Cyrus M. Running was born in 1913 in Veblen, South Dakota. (1) He attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. (2) From 1936 to 1939, Running attended the Yale School of the Fine Arts and eventually finished his degree at the University of Iowa. (3) Years later, Cyrus Running took the time to travel and advance the scope of his work, in which he was granted his Master of Fine Arts at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel in 1956. (4) Before he served as professor at Concordia College, Cyrus M. Running taught at a Wisconsin high school and at the University of Nebraska. (5)
