Jarle Rosseland was born in Bergen in 1952. His debut into the art world happened in 1970 at the Norwegian National Annual Autumn Exhibition when he was 18 years old. Since then he has become one of Norway's most prominent artists. He is most known for his style which consists of crisp lines, fluid movement, and interesting contours all of which are coupled with bizarre colors. He has stated that his inspiration and style are based in traditional Norwegian landscape and folk art. He has over 300 exhibitions all over the world, 32 of which are in national museums.</text>

This bust has Aasen as a man with broad shoulders, a prominent nose, a receding hairline, and a thin face covered by his beard. His forehead has wrinkles.
There are words on the stone underneath the bust. The Norwegian says ""Ivar Aasen/ Filolog-Dikter/ 1813 - 1896// Lat oss ink je forfederne/ glyma. under alt som me/ venda og sn?, for dei gav/ oss ein arv till aa goyma./ Han ner strre, en mange/ vil tru.// Resit av nordmnd/ ved sndmrelaget/ I Amerika/ 7 de Juni 1913"" (Please note that the / indicates where the words in go onto the next line. Also, the sculpture's pedestal has all its words in capital letters. As well ""DE"" is supposed to be superscript-ed - same goes for the English ""th"" because it is the seventh of the month). This translates into ""Ivar Aasen/ Philosopher - Poet/ 1813 - 1896// Let us never forget the forefathers/ In the changes we plan and conceive./ For they gave us in trust a great treasure,/ It is greater than we may believe.// Translation by/ Oscar R. Overby// Raised by Norwegians/ Of the Sandmore Club/ In America/ June 7th 1913""

At the bottom of the painting there is plant life. Above that is a river, where John the Baptist baptizes a bald person. Behind them is a town; here the sky is dark. Two trees grow tall. The predominant figure in the painting is either John the Baptist or Jesus the Christ, who stands half in shadow under the bigger tree, and half in light. His left hand is outstretched, arm in the air, in the light. Above his palm is a cross hanging in the sky. To his left the viewers right people stand, but they are rather indistinct and there are stripes of color, creating fan-like shapes.

Janis Provisor began her career with her husband, Brad, in New York. She always had a fascination with China and Chinese culture. She and her husband traveled to Hong Kong in the 1990s where they became deeply influenced by the artistic style they saw there. During that time they began making their paintings into Chinese design inspired carpets. During their year in China, Janis also became fascinated in woodblock printing. Alongside her painting and printing, Janis also makes jewelry. Janis and Brad founded the Fort Street Studio in New York. Both Janis and her husband are still actively running their art and jewelry business in New York.</text>
