<text>Notes: Native American artist, Anna Johnson, seeks to bridge the gap between the world she lives in and the culture she comes from. When she feels or experiences discrimination, she is moved to make a difference through her work; she addresses topics like religion and spirituality and the social injustices that Native Americans, women, LGBTQ+ people everywhere face. Originally from Bismarck, Johnson is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. She received her BFA in printmaking and drawing from NDSU and has been creating art here in Fargo and across the state since graduation.

Johnson connects with the community through artist-in-residence programs at the Plains Art Museum and West Acres Mall. She participates in the annual Native American Arts and Crafts Festival at the Plains and has recently started contributing to public art projects such as the Greetings from Fargo Mural Downtown. She serves as the head of the board of The Human Family, and is on the board of The Arts Partnership. She recently ran for a seat on the City Commission of Fargo and will continue to serve the community.
