There was a monthly book club with faculty from various departments; Faculty Women’s Group; Church, children of similar ages, etc. Dr Running also was instrumental in the start of Dad’s extra career in Archaeology. Dr. Running was the site recorder drawing finds, walls, etc for a dig in Northern Israel near the border with Lebanon. The site was/is Khirbet Shema. There are some drawings in Dad’s office in the College Library. Dad left his work to the College for their archives. Perhaps more than you wanted. My other siblings may have more stories.

My parents bought several Running paintings in addition to a few of Charlie Beck’s works. They enjoyed supporting fellow Concordians as they could. "

Jonas (Jonasie) Faber (b. 1944), a Greenlandic Inuit who has lived and worked in Canada for many decades.
Most of his pieces are of Arctic wildlife, village life, and Inuit and Nordic mythology (Sedna, Norse Gods, and migration boats).
Jonasie is very interested in the ancient ties between the Greenlandic Inuit and the Canadian Inuit, as well as the advent of Christianity in the north. (He's one of several Inuit carvers obsessed with how contact between North American and Greenlandic Inuit played out, as there's little scholarly work or hard evidence of contact between ancient North American and Greenlandic Inuit, but the settlements were separated by so short a distance and the cultures share some interesting characteristics that there must have been interaction between them.) Jonasie also worked on the restoration of the first Christian church in Greenland.
Jonasie is still doing some carving along with all of his other activities. He's well-regarded as an artist and his pieces are popular with collectors. His work is in museums in the USA, Canada, and Denmark -- and he has a piece in the Danish royal family's collection. </text>

<text>This image is an abstract cityscape with central emphasis. A gray washed roadway pulls the viewer deeper in to the central part of the image from the bottom left part of the picture frame or edge of the image. Gray, blue, and brown washes dominate as a base, with smaller areas of orange wash (in the lower left) and yellow wash (on the upper right corner). Over the washes vigorous pen and ink drawing describes bridges, buildings, power poles, wires, and antennas. The line work is gestural with focal points of heavy hatching and cross-hatching that add density. Arches are depicted both vertically and horizontally, unifying and softening the straight-edged geometry of the image. The piece is signed in the lower left corner of the image, “Cyrus Running 1962” in clearly printed black ink caps.</text>
