Bridge Collapse: I-35 Aerial View

This is abstract oil on canvas painting.

This abstract painting was inspired by the tragic event of the collapse of the I-35 bridge in Minneapolis on 8.1.2007. The square composition is dominated by a golden-orange wide vertical rectangular swath down the center of the painting over a dark ground. A circular shape filled with red is placed slightly lower than the center of the painting under a broken band of a lighter gray/blue colored rectangular shape that runs horizontally through the image. Pops of square shaped colors accent the piece.
