This woodcut shows a take on the famous and historical Boston and Maine Railway. Black, orange, yellow, white, and gray are the colors used to show the railroad near an industrial part of town.
Description
Two tracks run parallel to each other, curving as they go by a town. A mostly orange train goes by on the left track; four of its cars are seen in this piece. The part of the town we see has a water tower, three to four smokestacks, and some buildings. This woodcut is fairly simplistic, as seen through the use of color and shape. The colors have little variance, not changing hues. The buildings are very geometrically shaped and filled with solid color with very little, to no, texture. What little texture there is comes from the use of gray, which overlays some of the orange and yellow.
